Episode 6 – Sermon: Martin Luther, 500 Years Later

This episode addresses the “ultimate prep,” which is death.  Do you know what will happen to you after you die?

This is the occasional sermon from me, given to people at the local nursing home.  The audio quality could be better, and there was some discussion and interruptions from those in the audience, but it was all in good fun.  There was even some participation from a dog that was present!

There will be no Amazon links to any products discussed in this podcast, but here are some useful links for further investigation into this most important topic (I like these pastors):

Episode 5 – Hollywood’s Lousy Summer

Hollywood just reported a lousy summer at the box office.  While this might make a lot of sense, I have a different take on it.

Movies and DVD’s discussed in this podcast, most of which can be bought on this website’s Amazon tab, are:  I Am Legend, World War Z, 28 Days Later, Book Of Eli, The Postman, Blackout, Panic In Year Zero, Mad Max, and Road Warrior.

Episode 4 – North Korea Concerns

Is the world on the brink of a nuclear war on the Korean peninsula?  Possibly, but a nuclear exchange might not even be the worst of it.  In this episode, I give a very sobering assessment of the possibility of a nuclear exchange with North Korea, the possibility of EMP attack, the possibility of chemical / nerve gas attacks, radiation / fallout concerns for Americans, and even a conventional attack on the city of Seoul, South Korea.  Sadly, the outcome could mean millions of people dead, pretty quickly.

Some products discussed in this episode:

EMP: The End Of The Grid As We Know It

Iosat Potassium Iodide pills (130 mg, 14 tablets)

The Rock DVD

Song of Sarin, by Stew Magnuson

Personal Radiation Detector (wallet-size)

Episode 3 – Coffee Preparedness

Morale will sag in times of emergency, evacuation, or even a short trip. Good coffee will help you stay positive and keep your spirits up. In case of a total SHTF situation, stored instant coffee and the fixins could be used for barter (see chapter six of Dirt Cheap Valuable Prepping).

Some products discussed in this episode:

Ziplock Freezer Quart-Size Bag

Coffee Mate coffee creamer

Splenda

Stevia

Sugar Packets

Starbucks Instant Coffee

Taster’s Choice Instant Coffee

Nescafe Instant Coffee with creamer and sugar

Maxim Instant Coffee

Mount Hagen Instant Coffee

Episode 2 – Houston Flooding

Flooding can be a very serious SHTF event.  In this case, there was no order to evacuate, even flood-prone areas.  And the catastrophic flooding that was predicted in southeast Texas was ignored by so many there.  Why was that?  I have a theory.

I did not discuss any items that would help you prepare for flooding, but if I did, I would have discussed these items:
